Managing redirects can be simple — until your rules start overlapping. That’s why we’re excited to announce a new feature on AlterURL: Priority-based Redirects.

With Priority, you now have fine-grained control over which redirect takes precedence when multiple rules match. No more guesswork — just precision.

What’s New?

Every redirect rule now includes a Priority field — a simple number that determines which rule should be applied when more than one condition is true.

The rule with the higher priority value will be selected. It’s that straightforward.

Real-World Example: Black Friday Meets Mobile Traffic

Imagine this setup:

• Rule A: Redirect all mobile users to /mobile-home

• Rule B: Redirect all visitors from your Black Friday campaign to /black-friday-deals

Now consider what happens when a mobile user clicks your Black Friday ad. Both rules are valid. But your intention is clear: campaign traffic should go to the deals page.

With the new Priority feature, just assign:

• Rule A → Priority 10

• Rule B → Priority 100

AlterURL will now honor your intent, making sure the user lands on /black-friday-deals — no matter the device.
